I doubt that Trump fires Bondi or asks for her resignation. Stanger things have happened, but this seems unlikely to me. The allegations against Hegseth were more important, and Hegseth wanted to withdraw his nomination before Trump told him not to. Trump included Bondi in his cabinet for a reason, and that reason is her anti-2A stance on gun control. There simply isn’t anyone else Trump can get passed a Senate confirmation vote who aligns with Trump on this issue. While gun control isn’t an issue now, it will become an issue after the 2026 midterm elections. Trump is playing the long game here and knows that he just has to weather the storm until Nov. 2026 to get what he wants, and he’s willing to do so.
